The findings were: 1. Observation of the 2nd floor A medication cart on [DATE] at 4:09 PM showed the following concerns: a. One multiple-dose bubble pack of [MEDICATION NAME]/[MEDICATION NAME] (Narcotic pain medication) ,[DATE] milligram tablets which expired on [DATE]. b. One multiple-dose bubble pack of [MEDICATION NAME] HCL (narcotic pain medication) 50 mg tablets which expired [DATE]. 2. Interview with LPN #1 on [DATE] at 4:18 PM revealed the medications would have been administered to the residents even though the medications were expired. 3. Review of the Medication storage in the facility policy and procedure included .M. Outdated, contaminated, or deteriorated medications and those in containers that are cracked, soiled, or without secure closures are immediately removed from stock, disposed of according to procedures . | 2020-09-01 |
